I have been offered a school-paid position to teach Leaving Cert H Level French to very high-achieving students for 5 periods a week. I have part-time RPT hours elsewhere but I have only taught French to weak students at L Cert OL. French has never been my my 'main subject' and I am starting to panic. I have gone through the books, grammar, oral etc but can anybody advise me on a plan for a 5 class week? Also, would I need to give a load of extra phrases and the likes to high achieving students or are the books and revision books sufficient? Any advice from people who have taught classes where a good few are Hons A1 candidates really would be appreciated as I start Wednesday. Merci mille fois!
