Edit: Sorry, just to clarify. Every year around Fresher's Week there is a meet-up with people from the forum. Helps the newbies settle in and is a chance for people to get to know others and maybe have a friendly face to say hello to around campus.

Everyone usually meets at the campanile at 7pm and then head to the Pav.

I've yet to make one of these. I'll try this year but I'm on placement. Just thought it be good to get a poll going as I see lots of anxious peeps posting in the Fresher thread.

I picked every day just because I can do every day, and also because most of us will be drinking all week anyway, so we could do it every day.

In general, ever year there's a meetup of boards.ie TCD people in the Pav around Freshers' Week. It's apparently a good way to meet posters in real-life (I wouldn't know, I never went to any).

Same. I know very few posters in real life. Actually I've only talked to one other poster in real life.

The last time, I walked around for ages eyeing up groups of people I saw around the place wondering if they were from Boards. I was dreading asking the wrong people!

There's really no need. I went to a beers in first year; walked into the Pav and saw a dude with a ponytail and black trenchcoat and I just knew. People from the internet have a certain look about them.
