Hi all, my apologies if this has been posted in the past, I have some spare cash (lucky me!) to save away for a rainy day and have been contemplating saving with the state savings 5.5yr tax free account.

    http://www.statesavings.ie/products/Pages/SavingsCertificates.aspx

Has anybody got some advice/thoughts on this? I am also looking at Nationwide Ireland and rabobank also, there are just so many options.

My great fear is that considering 'we are where we are' :( security on maturity would be a worry.

Am I completely mad and beyond help? :)

    Thanks,

    NM
