You read that one poor guy may miss out on playing the biggest game of his life

You read that another is the villian of the piece by his conduct.

You would be wrong. The victim is the guy in blue throwing three digs in rapid succession and the villian is the Donegal guy on the receiving in.

Then look at the second video. There hasnt been a thing in the media about Cahills hit on Karl Lacey which was a copy of Kennellys hit on Murphy in the 2009 final witch was highlighted time and time again, yet nothing about Cahill whys that?

What about Karl Laceys dream of playing in an All Ireland Final? He hobbed off a few minutes into the second half.

Is his dream of playing in a final of less importance than Connollys who clearly was the agressor?

? how do you know he would have missed the final ? looked a bit dazed and the final is a month away? Connolly raised his hand to an oppenents face he deserved to get sent off too buts there totally seperate incidents and while theres sympathy for Connolly must agree it was a red. The second was a late hit happens once or twice a game in most matches every weekend.

Hold on Marty Boyle instigated this whole situation by needlessly charging into Connolly in the 1st place, and not to mention the 3rd man in Donegal player who then charged in with his fists on Connolly (replica to what Connolly done) and got off scott free, only difference was Connolly didnt drop to the ground like an absolute pleb. I suggest you look at all the factors in this incident.

Ya the donegal player should of got sent off too....Connolly got caught thats the difference ! Are you telling me Connolly shouldnt have got sent off because the other lad did the same thing or are you saying both players should be allowed to do what they did? It was all handbags and Connolly was the unlucky one who got caught out

The Cahill challange while late, ccould be explained from the point of view of momentum. The Lacey thing is a non event, and if Donegal had got there, he would have been playing. It is a non event, which is being used in mitigation for Donegal's poor showing on Sunday.

Connolly got the red card, and it was technically correct to do so.

Edit: Having just replayed the Connolly incident on YouTube, it goes to show just how provocative that Boyle fella was, and how the Donegal Midfield steamed in to push his fists into Connolly's face. If he is given dispensation to play in the final, I dont think too many can complain. While the red may have been right on the day, the entire context of the incident may have a massive bearing.

My own opinion is it was a harsh red card as Ive seen worse less punished but yes Im aware the letter of the law warrants a red card if an you raise your hand to a player, thats the black and white of it but this situation as you rightly say was handbags and just got silly. Honestly i feel yellow cards for both would have sufficed and get on with it. Just my own opinion of course.

Maybe I am completely blind but was it not shoulder to shoulder? I've taken a few belts like that in my time and whilst I may have been seeing stars for a while after I never felt there was anything dirty to it.

When I saw the thread title I assumed the question would be "If you were not a GAA fan would you ever watch the game again after watching the Donegal v Dublin match".

So did I. It's time to let this lie and just let Dublin and Kerry fans slag each other off for two weeks.
