Does the Dreambox work when you plug it directly in to the tv.

I understand those powered multi-scart units can be quirky. Not sure there is anything you can do except switch off the other units when you want to use the Dreambox, or try the units connected to alternative sockets, there may be a "priority order" of the sockets (pin 8 of the scart standard should provide for correct operation, but foibles in cables or devices cause this order to break down). Maybe you can get a combination to work with one of the DVD players plugged through the extra scart (if there is one) on the Dreambox? I have a DVD player piggybacked through a sat receiver to a TV with 1 scart.

I had this dilemma a couple of months back and went with a multi-scart unit with manually switched buttons. Much cheaper, and works fine for me, after doing a bit of research on them, I really didn't want the hassle of getting a unit that didn't play nice with all the devices I wanted to connect through it.

Can you not just feed the sat box through one of the dvd players assuming the dvd player has 2 scarts.
I had a similar problem last week after getting a hd box from sky. I have the sky box a dvd recorder and a vhs recorder connected through a scart switcher similar to yours. After changing the sky box sky to tv worked dvd to tv worked and vhs to dvd worked but I could get no signal from the sky through the dvd recorder.I swapped the sky scart lead from the splitter to the other scart socket on the dvd recorder and the signal came through. I only use this for recording sky programmes to dvd.
I know your problem is a bit different from this but it might be worth trying.
