    what would be the cause of this

    would it be the gas or does it need a clean at the back

    Assume you have defrosted it totally?

    it was off for a few weeks

    don't think there's any frost

    If the compressor motor is running at the back of the fridge (you should hear it humming away), it could be the thermostat-

    it's turned up max

    it's cold but apparently not cold enough
