    Hi,

I've a sim-free HTC sensation and I'm having trouble with the Meteor MMS settings.

I've had a look through the forums and posts and checked the Meteor website for settings. The settings are ok.
I've checked and rechecked and even called in to a store - they also said that the settings I entered are correct.
I don't think it's a sim problem as I was using a sim-free Desire and had no problems.
My data settings are working fine.

I'm just wondering if there's a trick I'm missing with this specific phone or if anyone had any luck solving a similar problem?

    Thanks!

I had the same problems with a Hero and DHD. I gave up calling them after they repeated the same settings over and over.
    Never got it working.

if you are trying to send from stock messaging app, the networks limit it to 300kb and the stock messaging app does not do this properly. I send them from the camera app I use. it shrinks them sufficently then attaches them to the message in the stock app.

Alternatively try one like Go messenger, Handcent or chompsms etc. they all work afaik.

I use Handcent and I've tried resizing using that. One mms I got a friend to send randomly arrived last night but the others still won't download and anything I try to send fails.
I went to Meteor website to send settings directly from there and I got a text saying device not supported which makes no sense.
I know it's a harmless enough capability on an otherwise exceptional phone but this will drive me mad until I fix it!

I would but the people I'd send mms to don't all use email on their phone and It's just not as instant. Prefer to get it working and now that one has arrived I'm even more confused!

It's a popular phone and if it works for everyone else there's no reason it shouldn't work for me! Although same could be said of your phones I guess.

could also be that MMS got turned off for your numbers by network. I know when I swtiched networks it had to be activated or something when I rang customer care.

other than that if the settings are right then I am not sure.

Thanks. Yes, I called Customer Care a couple of times just to double check this. At first and spoke to a lady who tried to convince me that my phone was broken and should be sent for repair. At no point did she ask me for my number or check settings at her end and she was very unimpressed when I told her that I didn't agree with her and that I thought it was a network/settings issue
Thankfully, got a nice lady the second time who immediately checked that everything at their end was in order and made a few suggestions. After a few sim swaps, hardware fine, sim fine, back to settings.
Did a bit more searching online and found that just changing the password to 'meteor' worked.

    Username: my
    Password: mms meteor

I don't know why this worked and everyone I spoke to, including the guy in-store said the password should be mms... so I'm putting it down to luck and forgetting about it!
Might be useful for anyone else with the same problem!

    Thanks for the help!:)

I had the same problem with a Desire and DHD, seems to an Android issue.

I noticed if I turn off Mobile Data and then send or download it works fine.

I think its a bug were Android tries to send/download over your internet connection instead of the MMS APN, so if you disable it it has no choice but to use the mms APN.

OP I had the same problem on O2. I call them to get the settings and even copied settings from friends phones but it would not work

Then I found an app called Tweakker - all operators APN. Search for it on the market. Its a paid App but not expensive. One click and it fixed everything for me in a few seconds

    Highly recommended

Thanks guys, I got it sorted with the change of password, as above. But my settings are now different to other Sensation phones which is bizarre! I just posted the new and working settings above for anyone else who might have the same problem.
    Thanks again.

I used to have this problem on meteor. To solve it I set up two apns, one for data and another for mms. The data apn should be set to data only so that the phone, won't try to use it for mms.
