If you like it, it is. It's cheap, high protein, low carb, low fat, versitile, easy to eat and filling. The downside is that some people hate the taste or texture.

If the thought of eating it doesn't make you gag, then it's well worth putting a couple of tubs into your shopping basket. If I'm eating on the rub, then a tub of cottage cheese is much better than grabbing a Danish.

YES, cottage cheese is vey healthy.

If you like cottage cheese, you can it plain. Otherwise, you can vary recepies.

Add some fruits, or mix with youghurt, or add home made jam. You need only small spoon of jam to get totallly different taste.

Quite often I make salads with cottage cheese: isberg salad, tomatoes, black olives, cucumber and etc. Simple mix and try.

    Good Luck :)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quark_(cheese)

You can get this Quark cheese in any easter european shop.Get low fat .
Mix with bit of cream -much tastier.Cottage cheese usually comes to salty ,I don't like that.
And try with warm baby potatoes in skins +cottage (quark) cheese with dill and tomato .

I've gotten into eating cottage cheese a lot lately. Tesco do a "Light Choices" brand, which off the top of my head is only 1.5% fat. I can eat it straight from the tub myself, but am always experimenting with different herbs, spices etc.

In fact, if anyone has some nice ideas for cottage cheese, let me know! Also, has anyone here ever made their own paneer? I'm thinking of giving it a go.

    I made dessert with it.

Dissolve a sachet of sugarfree jelly in about a third of a pint of hot water.
Put a tub of cottage cheese into the blender with half the hot liquid. Blend till smooth.
Put a tray of ice cubes and the rest of the hot liquid into the blender. Blend until you can't hear any more ice rattlng.
Pour out into four containers and put into the fridge until it sets.

I swear, this is lovely. The Tesco one might be a little salty to be ideal for this, I use the Lidl cottage cheese instead.

    The perfect meal before bed.

Mix with some fresh pineapple (not tinned) and blueberries, if you are not controlling carbs.
