    Hi all,

New to this section, my earphones went bust on me yesterday so am now in market for something new.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B001DD55OE/ref=sr_1_1_olp?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1314963154&sr=1-1&condition=new
Would like a set of Dre Beats and am currently looking at these or something similar, my only hesitation about the ones in the link is that the price seems too good to be true, granted they could be older models.

They are essentially what I am in the market for so if anyone has some suggestions or reviews of the Dre Beats please slot them in this thread.

    Many thanks.

I'd steer clear of beats all together and base what to get on how good a product it is not how it's perceived through marketing. Buying beats by dre is a lottery as it's very easy to pick up cloned or copied products even buying via amazon isn't 100% reliable.

I've got the Fischer Audio DBA-02 and to me they're brilliant, providing you get a good fit. I wear them on the bus or wherever and I can drown out back ground noise and people's conversations and they're easily powered by an ipod. Compared to bulky headphones which if you're on the go or moving about are a nuisance these are a delight. Gently wrap them up in the pouch and they're safe as houses, I've mistakenly left them in my jeans back pocket whilst in the pub and upon returning home opened the pouch expecting to see small pieces but time after time they're fine.

If you're set on headphones have a look here and see what's in your budget and seems to fit your requirements. You don't say if you want something portable or what music you like or what your budget is so it's tough to give you suggestions.

If you're open to persuasion then have a read of this.

It's massively long and detailed and the budget goes over $1000 for a set but it's a good reference point to see what is out there in brands and models that don't rely on marketing to sell their product but on the quality of the product itself.

Cheers mate, I will be using them for portable use mostly, hence going for the beats, I have tried them and loved them.

I listen to all sorts of music so no particular genre stands out really, usually rock if i had to pick one.
