I always use the brushes and patches for cleaning out bores. However, today I was cruising the RemingtonCountryStore.com site and came across bore squeeg-e's like these

Here's a few more in different calibers.

They claim the "design allows cleaning of lands and grooves with one pull" and that it "Eliminates need for mops and patches."

Anyone ever use them? Is there anything similar out there?

    Interesting idea alright :)

Ive no experince of them but I cant reccomend a Snake bore enough. I find that it has no hassle cleaning out any muck or sh!te in my barrels after a couple of hundred rounds with only 2/3 pulls through

+1 for the bore snake. They have the advantage that you can clean barrels that don't give very good access to the breech, like the Buck Mark pistol. But I still don't know if they are as thorough as the patches/wire brushes (coz I am not that thorough with cleaning bores in the first place :) )

I usea bore snake for my .22 and on my .223 if i only fire a few shots but. You cant get a barrel anywhere near as clean with them as you can with some solvent and patches, you cant beat the sight of a spotless patch coming out the end of your barrell after a good scrubbing
