Okay so, I accepted an offer for IT Tallaght (Not Tallaght IT, unfortunately as I would like very much to tell everyone I go to TIT). Trouble is, apparently it's going to cost me a fee and tuition. What? It's going to now cost me over 3,000 to attend just for one year. I was told I was ineligible for any grant and never sought one out before for that reason. But then again, I didn't get an offer I wanted. I placed this course above the ones I didn't want since it was a vacancy. I obviously only found out it got accepted today!

I qualify for a non adjacent grant since I'm so bloody far away, however, it's too late for me to get it now? I had no idea I was going to end up getting this course as I applied to many like it and didn't receive offers, it was my last desperate attempt at getting the course I wanted. I also didn't know my parents wouldn't be able to afford it around this time, 1500-2000 would've been grand, it's what we were expecting so we were prepared to have that money set aside for college. I don't have the money for college tuition and a fee worth that much and now huge travel expenses on top of it?

What the hell are my options now? Take out a loan and somehow get a job that pays more than the one I have? Repeat and wait until my parents have the money?

The grant deadlines are nearly always extended. I think you will still be able to apply.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I dont know what local authority you're applying to but Dublin city council have extended their closing date to 30th November 2011.
