A guy at work is trying to flog me a "Klondyke Flyer" for €250.

A quick google of it reveal sweet FA only the same guys ad for the bike on Buy and Sell.

Has anyone ever even heard of a Klondyke. The bike is getting a service at the moment so I'm hoping to have a ride off it this afternoon but the complete lack of information on the internet about has me concerned?

The rear deraileur is Shimano Atlus which seems to be a MTB range?

It seems like a leaver to me but just wondering if anyone has any experience with the make/bike.

    Cheers.

"Klondyke flyer" sounds like a euphemism for a turd that disappears around the u-bend without having to be flushed away.

I suspect the bike is quite similar in that regard

Just started laughing hysterically in my little office cubicle.

    Nice one!

Dont be so insulting to ****.

Klondykes are heaps of ****e, at €250 your mate is taking you for a ride, and not the kind with a happy ending.

I am the proud owner of a Klondyke Flyer.

It is a turd but it's my turd and has lasted for over 3 years on the U bend roads of Dublin.

Your mate is funnier than the bike though, I bought mine brand new from a bricks and mortar shop for €199 :pac:

I've replaced a couple of parts, spent maybe €80 total in that time, mainly on a new bottom bracket.

This one sounds newer though as I only have a Tourney components, Altus are higher spec I believe.

i have a klondyke flyer! was my first bike. i have the Altus version. bought new for €400 so hope i wasnt ripped off!.. i love mine for sentimental reasons but it is a bit off a P.O.S. but ive been all over ireland on mine. prob has 7-8000km on it and ive replaced rear wheel and both cranks (they snapped under my immense power on two seperate occasions on steep climbs ;) - cheap chinese aluminium). Its fairly heavy too, so its only a flyer when you're going down hill. . i still use it as my city bike. had it for over 3 years now.

Came on boards to see what people who know a bit about bikes think of Klondykes?

Someone I know wants is offering to sell me a Klondyke 700c for €100, six months old. Apparently it cost €250 new.

Is this reasonable or are Klondykes no good? I need it for a 14k commute. No off-road or anything like that.
