    This Just Concluded,

Samsung have announced a Bada smartphone and the 7.7" galaxy Tab running Android 3.2

The most interesting (to me) is the Samsung note: 5.2" Super Amoled HD, 1.4 GHz processor and Stylus support, Samsung touting it as a new Segment

Yeah saw the galaxy note...looks savage(if a little too big for a phone). Anywhere I can review the event? Was the nexus prime unveiled?

Has been touted around twitter as too big for a phone and too small for a tablet.
Haven't seen it yet mind you.

The Note looks like an interesting little gadget. I like the way they are trying to bring back the PDA features to the Tablet. Pricing will be the most important factor though. Anything more than €500, I may aswell just buy an iPad or a 10" Android Tablet.

Yeah I'd say they would factor the price into it especially as you said the iPad and other competitors would take away from it if price was much more. Looks very cool though.

Galaxy Note does indeed look impressive but it's far too big for a phone it would barely fit into my pocket, the Galaxy S2 is the perfect size i reckon!

I think it should consider it as a Tablet that also acts as a phone, rather than a phone first!

Maybe the nexus prime with it's 4.65 inch rumoured screen would be a choice in-between the s2 and galaxy note.

No release dates or price details yet though.

il wager this will come out just before the xmas period, by then they will have had time to asses the IPAD3/Iphone 5 prices and probably adjust thiers accordingly

According to reports this morning, apple got an injunction banning the samsung galaxy tab 7.7 from being sold in germany and forcing samsung to remove tbe 7.7 from the samsung unpacked event.

What was that steve jobs was saying about no market for 7 inch tablets

    No I don't think so.

Here's a video of the Samsung Note. Looks like a massive SGS2. Can see how it'd be useful for some people / cases; don't think I'm one of them though.

Also, the SGS2 finally making it's way to the States. Looks like they've changed the button configuration?
    1:12 into this video:

The names the yanks put on these things is bizarre too. Don't know who benefits from changing the name for every provider. This one's the "Sprint Samsung Epic 4G Touch"... the other networks will have a different name for it.

your not wrong there. I have a Dell streak 5, its nice but and its just as you say. when using as a phone it feels too big in your hands but as a tablet its too small. My sgs2 feels just right for a phone.

People (even reviewers) regularly mix up system RAM and onboard storage.

Thing is i got it from the samsung unpacked app. same place that streamed the event live.
Under specs for the 7.7 they have 'memory - 8GB LPDDR2 (RAM) , 16/32/64 movi NAND + microSD (upto 32 GB)'
so no, they dont seem to have mixed the 2 up

GSMarena lists the 7.7 with 1GB memory.

I still think they've got it wrong...

Nexus phones get announced at Google events, not OEM events. Ice Cream Sandwich is due to launch in October or November. So look out for Google events in that time frame.
