Here's one of my pet hates when driving. Why are so many people driving around with their fog lights on? It's bad enough when driving around the city at night where around 1 in 4 drivers have their fog lights on in perfectly good visibility. Once you get out of the city it's easily every second car.

Fog lights are not DRL's (daytime running lights) and should only be used in seriously reduced visibility (i.e. less than 50 meters). Not only is it actually illegal to use fog lights in good visibility, it's actually dangerous. Especially on wet roads they can cause serious glare and blind oncoming traffic.

    So what's the obsession?

It annoys people enough that there's a rule against threads on it here - due to them turning up every few days!
