What type of videos are you planning to make, and what is your budget?

Check out Tallon's guides stickied in this forum, they're very helpful.

Basic editing is actually pretty easy, you won't need help.

You can get HD cameras in places like Currys now for around €250, so I'm sure a bit of shopping around would get a good camera at a cheap price.
