    Hey guys

I haven't played and don't really play anymore. I'll pop on for a few random games occasionally. Main reason I don't play now is because I just don't have a character I'm comfortable playing or like enough to get good enough to play with unfortunately.
So, with that, I've this Ghetto Pimp Blinged out one of a kind 24 Karat gold leafed custom B15 stick that is sitting unused. I think it could do with a new home and me with the bones of some new monitor speakers to do what I prefer to do with my time these days.

With that I propose a tournament where the winner takes home "el sticko blingo". Entry fee would depend on interest/turnout. The more people the lower the entry fee. I won't hold the tourney if the interest is too low anyway. I'm asking people to put their name down here if they'd come down to XGC for a tourney to win my stick and basically a reason to has moar fihgtingz.

The fee would be between 10-15 euro most likely. So stick your name down if you'd be up for it and I'll count names to see what kind of amount of people would be up for it.

    Cheers.

    My stick is here -->

Would you enter this tournament? 8 votes

Yes, I'd love to win that stick and I'd definitely enter.

No thanks I'm not really interested.

Maybe, depending on how much it was to enter.

That stick is way to insane looking to not try and win! Sign me up! :pac:

    I'd be up for it.

You should try tie this in with the event in the pub on Thomas St.

Drunk people will always pay for a chance to win something!

whats the game for the tourny? thats one awesome stick btw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

The game question is a good point because we do have lots of people that don't play SF4 (which I assume would be the game of choice) but would like a fancy stick.

I'd say the best way of doing it is a raffle at the drunken pub adventure. This way it's something cool for that event and everyone has a chance. You'd probably get random entrants on the night and boost the actual amount you could get.

A raffle for a fiver a ticket sounds like the best option.

    Cobelcog doesn't play stick ;)

Actually you've a good point yeh. I guess I didn't think of that. I was gonna do Street Fighter but the stick would be handy for anyone who uses stick so maybe the raffle idea is better. I shall ponder on this also.

What's this pub thing you speak of?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 217 ✭✭Neeknak

I was considering investing in another one but if it goes down the raffle route I'll purchase a ticket or two. 'Tis a loooovely stick. First time he used gold leaf too if my memory serves me correctly.

A lot of the people in the community probably can't go to pubs or won't be going to that I'd say and I couldn't really just go in and say Yeh I'm raffling this off in your pub. I am thinking a raffle at an Inferno might be the best idea though. All fighting gamers are generally there at the same time whatever their game and whatever their age.

I'd say at a Day of Champions might be a better idea. Considering it has SSFIV:AE teams, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Blazblue, Mortal Kombat and 3rd Strike it's likely to attract more people.

I'd enter a tournament/ raffle on provision that I can sell it back to you for a reasonable price for when you decide you actually want to continue playing.

I'd prefer a raffle though, give everyone a fair shot.

I mean a tournaments a fair shot too, but I'd have to make sure about 8 people had an "accident" on the way to it to make sure I'd win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,239 ✭✭✭UberPrinny_Baal

Raffle is the only way a lot of us have a fair shot at it.

I like winning raffles, but man is that an ugly stick. :pac:

    Roseball?

    **** that.

    WINDJAMMERS TOURNAMENT!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,020 ✭✭✭Ry

Actually love the roseball idea but it'd take forever. I'm thinking raffle now to give everyone a chance. Also Dreddy it's very likely I'll play again but if/when I do I'll just get a normal stick again to use so no biggy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭Dreddybajs

Presume you meant Doom there but I'm glad to hear you think you'll be back playing again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,823 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

TBH, something this cool you need to WORK for to win. I propose a mystery game tournament. Or SNES SF2.

I was away at Electric Picnic there so wasn't really able to look at boards. I think I'll raffle it so everyone has the same chance really. When is the next big gathering of all fighting game groups at the same time? Last inferno seemed to have a decent contingent from a bunch of games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,971 ✭✭✭Orim

Day of Champions is probably your best bet Ry. It's on the 17th and should have everyone there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,020 ✭✭✭Ry

Right so I'll head down to that then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 699 ✭✭✭blag

Aaaw bummer, I don't think any of the northern crowd are heading down to DoC, I'll have to arrange for an honest individual to buy me some tickets!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,020 ✭✭✭Ry

Right so I'm going to do a raffle. I'll sell tickets at inferno tomorrow and also day of champions so there're a couple of chances to enter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,396 ✭✭✭PPC

Will you accept paypal for people who can't make tourneys? :D

Hey guys just to let you all know I'll be at the Inferno selling tickets again for the stick. I will let everyone know here on Boards when and where the draw will be done when it is gonna go ahead and in the interest of fairness, in case some people who have bought tickets are not at whatever event I do the draw at don't worry as I'll be giving people time here to come forward with their ticket.

The process will be: I'll draw 5 tickets in public on the draw day and if the person with the winning ticket isn't there I'll post here on this thread what number was pulled for those not at the event that have tickets bought. The winner can then post a picture of their ticket and give it to me next time I see them. If no one comes up after 3-5 days (I haven't fully decided yet on how much time to give to come forward) I'll move onto the 2nd ticket of the 5 I drew at the event in public and so on. I figure this way you don't have to actually be at every event hoping not to miss the Draw when I do eventually do it and can just keep an eye here if you do miss one.

See you all next week at Inferno 20.

I'm wondering if you've made a decision on this yet Ry.

Are you going to have a draw?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,020 ✭✭✭Ry

Yeh I'm gonna go to another event or two first and then decide. Sorry it's dragging out man, I thought interest would be much higher. So far as it stands interest has been very low so the draw won't go ahead as things are but if things change at the next DOC or Inferno then I will. I've everyone's money in a nice little pot so I will be able to pay everyone back no probs which is unfortunate since I wanted the stick to stay in the irish fighting game community but if interest doesn't increase then it'll have to go on Ebay or something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,919 ✭✭✭1man3letters

    hey ry,
any chance of the draw for this happening @doc5?
its been a while now so id say who ever wanted a ticket has one by now and id hate to see it just put up for bids on ebay seeing as ya said ya want it to stay in the community ;)

Yeh unfortunately I couldn't make it to inferno as planned so at this stage I'm gonna give everyone their money back. It's not got near the interest I thought it would so unfortunately it's money back time. Sorry to disappoint those who paid for tickets but nothing lost nothing gained I guess. I'll figure out when and where I'll be to give people money back. I think the DOC is a good place to do it so I'll pop down to that to reimburse people on production of their tickets.

Again sorry to disappoint all those who entered but it'd just be nuts for me to let it go for such a small amount considering how much it's worth. See you at DOC.

I'm still trying to shift a couple myself. I got my L96 and that's all I want to keep but I'm still looking to sell off other pieces. :) I'll think about it though because I may be able to sell whatever we trade if I do decide to. Send me a list of what you're willing to trade if you like and I'll have a think about it.

Bought back a bunch of tickets there at DOC but still a good few left to buy back. I should be at the next inferno to pick up more.
