    Hi All
Bit late to the party but I just today took delivery a PS3 60gb in absolute MINT condition.
    She's a beaut but I have a query.
The main reason I went for the 60gb is of course the backwards compatibility.
    Love my old ps2 games.
Thing is, I noticed that I can update the firmware through PSN.
Will this affect the backwards compatibility??

    Cheers

    HB

The firmware update has nothing to do with the backwards compatibility, your 60GB will play your PS2 games regardless of you updating or not.

    Welcome to the club btw!

Your ps3 has a chip in inside it which allows it to play ps3 games, used to have one myself but it got YLOD.
