Okay, crazy place to ask maybe, but I just thought I'd chance it!

I'm going to be in Italy during the first week of the RWC, and I'm trying to find out what channels are covering it, or I'm thinking of bringing a lappy with me to stream it... as I don't know what channels the TV the hotel will have there.

Tried googling it as well, but not getting anywhere soon! :P

Looks like they'll be showing the Italy matches on sky Italy. Here's a site that tells you what channels have the rights to matches and what they can show in Europe

It would appear that Sky Italia have the rights to Italy's pool games + 1 additional pool match per week, and all of: quarter finals, semis, bronze match and final.

Basic package a la tv3 4 years go, it appears.

Not looking good for picking up stray pool matches in the morning while your other half gets ready.

On a related note will there be any coverage of Pro 12 matches from Italy this season? Pay broadcaster Dahlia TV went into administration last season and coverage stopped. Anyone any info on this?

No news on that front. Celtic Rugby's site is finally back on line after being down most of the summer and Treviso/Aironi home games are not listed as having any coverage unfortunately.

Rugby doesn't have a large following in Italy, Sky Italia have both the Heineken Cup and Six Nations. I don't know if the Italian league (I can't even find a website for it) gets any TV coverage whatsoever. I'd imagine either RAI or Mediaset could have the Italian Pro 12 rights for a song seeing as Sky don't appear to be interested.

Nice one for all the info An Tarbh, Cool_CM, & MrDerp!

That's a pity that Sky Italia will only be showing the Italy matches! :(

I'm gonna bring me lappy with me and fingers crossed the hotel has wifi in the room... Don't think they'd appreciate me down at 7am in the lobby scabbing their wifi for rugby matches! :D

I presume it'll be easy enough to find streaming sites for the matches...
