Have gas heating but looking to convert the gas fire back to solid fuel which will mean changing the fireplace and getting a new marble hearth. Can anyone reccomend a few fireplace companies other than wren in newbridge (very expensive). Would look into places anywhere in county. Thanks

Depending on how far out of the way it is
Have a look at King Fireplaces in Athy, they have some nice fireplaces http://kingfireplaces.ie/

Also there is anothe place on the old N78 just outside kilmead
Antiques and Fireplaces have never been there so not sure what their selection is like, but worth a look map

    +1 on Kings.

Also hop onto the M9 and head to Flame, O'Brien Road, Carlow Town. Will be well worth the trip - excellent service and very VERY knowledgable staff!
