    Hi
I'm living in a 2 bed apartment and last winter the apartment didn't seem to warm up very well and lost heat very quick once the heating was off. I'd like to get an assesment done to see what can be done to improve the apartment but I'm not sure where to start. I've heard of things like BER and air tests but i'm not sure whats best for an apartment . Would anyone have any advice how i should start.
    Dave.

    Hi Dave
A BER wont help you much so dont even entertain anyone who tries to sell you one. It only has value to compare apartments for renting and selling. Also an air tightness test has limited value because of communal spaces and neighbouring apartments.
Do you own the apartment or are you renting? If your renting you need to talk to the landlord about major changes. If not you need to contact the management company.
What part of the country are you in?
Are you using electric storage heaters?
PM me I might be able to help further with more information and thermal imaging test.

    Hi pyro
Thanks for the quick reply. I bought the apartment 2 years ago so i have a mortgage on it. The apartment is heated using a gas central heating boiler with radiators in each room. also each apartment has its own seperate enterance with no shared spaces and its a ground floor apartment of approx. 800 square feet if that makes a difference. apartment is located in newbridge co. kildare.

Cool. Was the building constructed recently? Its also worth getting a full boiler service and have the rads checked every year regardless of how old it is.
