    Hi all,

I am wondering can you go to Australia on a years working visa if you have a criminal record? And can you ever get into the states after ten years or anything?

    Thanks

    It depends on the record.

You'd have to indicate it on your application form - part D, Q33 - and tick the box on the landing card.

It would depend on the offence but if you declare it up front then they can review it and make a decision.

Your best bet is to contact the embassy before you travel. That way you can get full information, and even have a visa approved before you travel.
