Display Inverter or Something else

So I already have bought a replacement inverter ($11.99) for the Display on my DV600 just wondering if I need to be concerned about another part that might be at fault.

Before you say anything I wrote the book on this forum about the DV6000  The Motherboard was replaced - under warranty - and there are no GPU-related issues or symptoms to be sure. At least, not since the replacement!

The Screen itself is 3 years old the laptop is 4. Sometimes the screen backlight will die, not always concrete on when it happens. Sometimes on a Low Battery, sometimes when I plug it in, sometimes when I unplug it. Occassionally when I adjust the screen brightness and frequently when I adjust the screen/hinges. Nothing else is affected, not the speakers, wireless, graphics, no BSODs no Driver-state power situations, etc. Based on all these things I just assume the inverter and not anything that handles power distribution on the motherboard itself but was wondering if anyone else has more experience with backlight and power issues that can tell me what I should be taking note of. Thanks!

Looking forward to getting the thing apart again anyway: last time I was down there I don't think I put the hinge back together right, it kinda wiggles a bit :P Started college again and I need this thing for school. It cost $1200 new and it still has more power under it than most laptops selling now for $350. So I'd rather not chuck it if I don't have to. But Ima have to if this repair starts costing more than $11.99. But the inverter o'course sits right in a cavity in the screen, near the hinge, and I know I've prodded it more than a few times in previous installs of a screen and an N antenna.

    Hi Overheal,
Don't worry about GPU. It has nothing to do with backlight. You might have problem with CCFL bulb built in LCD screen.
To make sure just plug another CCFL bulb instead suspected one.
If you will have the same symptoms with other bulb, check voltages goes into inverter.
    supply- around 15V constantly
    on/off 3V
    brightness up to 3V

What mainboard version we are talking about?

You can come over to my place and I we can check it or I can borrow you the bulb. You can use for test any screen with working bulb, even if screen is cracked.

Overheal I have asked you for MB number, you have posted picture of table. I still do not know what ver of mb you have, so I can not tell you what voltages and resistance you should have in specific points.
CCFL bulb you can buy on ebay or "borrow" from any laptop just for test.
