Just wondering how many people use hybrids and up to what degree? Some of them now come up to 6h. Or are you more of a 3 and 4 iron lover?? Im currently using 3h which i love then 4iron up, strongly considering getting the 4h version as i reckon i could do better with it than my 4iron, hard to know.

I dropped the 4 iron out of my set and use a hybrid for a 3 iron......I have been meaning to get a hybrid to replace the 4 iron but haven't got round to it.

Gonna go same route myself i think, would you go up as far as a 6 in a hybrid? bit mad isnt it, i think YE yang does

Mad? Not really, i play with a set of cobras 4,5,6 hybrids and 7 to sw irons. They are very similar to the baffler rails, the 6 iron is my go to club, very easy to hit and gives me plenty of confidence cause I know I'll get 160-170 yards especially after a bad drive. Have played with 4 and 5 irons and find the hybrids easier to hit.

A bit mad as in I personally dont know anyone who carries 3-5 hybrid let alone 3-6, il deffo be getting a 4 and possibly even a 5 in future, much sweeter alright. I can hit my 3h 220+ all day so think a 4 would be a nice addition as my 4 iron is very hit and miss

Well now you can say you know of 1 hacker that plays with 4,5,6 hybrids. :D I definately find them more forgiving, which for a novice is definately a bonus.

I am sure there are a legion of golfers who do prefer long irons, maybe more experienced, dunno but for me its hybrids all the way.

Tell me Tones, did you get fitted for your hybrid and what type of hybid are you using?

Have 2-5 hybrids, but recently took the 5 out fo the bag and re-instated the iron.

4 hybrid is my go-to club, always hit it sweetly and get around 190-200yds consistently with it.

One thing I've found is that they tend to fly the ball a bit higher than the equivalent iron. It's good in terms of carrying the ball a bit further, and stopping it quicker, but can play havoc on a windy day.

Didnt get fitted no, its the TM Burner superfast 2.0, lovely club but find the shaft a little light, might change it out for a heavier, love it though and think i will swap out my 4 iron for the 4H too ;)

Carry a 3 and a 4 hybrid myself(Callaway Diablo Edge). Like another poster says I tend to suffer in the wind too.
They're my club of choice off a fairway, rather than a wood, just seem to be able to sweep them better.
Where I find them really useful is where I have an awkward fringe putt off the green, the shorter shaft over a wood shaft gives me better feel for the weight of the putt..

Have had 3 & 4 hybrids for a few years now and find them much easier than same irons, much more consistent, more forgiving and easier to play iin general.
A Pro convinced me in the USA when he put 2 balls down side by side and told me to hit them, the result was 2 solid strikes into the net. Try it yourself and it will give you a lot of confidence with them.

Thats interesting, using your hybrid for that type of shot, must give that a try. I dabbled using them 10 to 20 yards off the green on a tight lie with a clear run to the flag.

May I just say as a golfer who still carries a blade 1 iron you should all be ashamed of yourselves.
You lilly livered shower should learn golf the proper way, why don't you just put the ball in a gun & shot it, easier than swinging.
While your at it nobody needs 4 wedges either, if I get my hands on any of you there'll be an ass whoopin'.

I have a 22 degree 4H - can someone tell me what iron this should replace ?
(normally - I know there may be some variance)

If you are caught on a golf course during a storm and are afraid of lightning, hold up a 1-iron. Not even God can hit a 1-iron.

    I have 1 hybrid, 19*, a 3w and 3i upwards

I use the hybrid for around the greens to scoot the ball over any bumps before/around the fringe

I also use it to tee off with if its not a driver hole or its a long par 3 with not much danger around the green.

As it goes higher its way more likely to go off course than my 3 iron (same distance)
I also use it for second shots on a par 5 for example, as it will go further off the fairway then 90* of my 3-irons will. Shaping it can be a little tricky though.
