I watched it the other day and a fine piece of Americana it was too but one thing about it has me puzzled.

Near the end of the film when Sam Rockwell's character goes to visit his folks in the trailer park there's a photo of one of the 2 guys from Castle Gardens who've been tormenting him, specifically the guy who owns the dog and gets shot at the end of the movie.

I know there's some history between these 2 since it's mentioned that they were in school together but just for a brief time. That doesn't explain why his mother would have a picture of the guy in her home though.

    What have I missed?

I haven't watched it in years, saw it was on the other night alright, good film. I remember one of the guys tormenting him, the one played by Eric Mabius is supposed to be secretly gay or something, maybe its something to do with that? I'd need to watch it again really.
