    Hi all,
Ive got a lovely Om system nifty fifty and adaptor fitted. Now I know there is a VERY shallow DOF when wide open. But in certain cases with some focus in the viewfinder and a very short shutter speed the entire photo comes out blurred. Any pointers/websites that may help please?

    thanks

Never had a problem like this. Do you have a sample photo you can show us? What type of body are you connecting the lens to?

The problem with wide, fast apertures is that the slightest movement can often throw the image out of focus. I found that in shooting gigs with my nifty fifty - if someone was dancing (or more accurately moshing) near me, pictures would more often then not come out out of focus because by the time I press the shutter all the way down from focusing, in that split second, my camera would have moved a centimeter or so.

Are you using the Canon f/1.8 fitted to an Olympus? That lens in particular does not like camera shake.

I dont have any of the problem photos uploaded at the moment. Its an olympus zuiko Om 50mm f1.8 on an olypmus e410 body.
The problem is on fairly static scenes tbh.
Here are a couple of photos fairly in focus:

so i dont think its the lense is the problem...i think i may know what the problem is though

ummm ok so i think is it because you cant focus at infinity at f1.8?

the adapter should allow for that.
having used an e500 with OM 50mm f1.8, my main issue was that the viewfinder was too small with no focus indicator, so what you thought was in focus wasn't actually.
