A Night Under the Stars

    Hi guys,

    I managed to get out under the stars fro the first in ages last Wednesday night. It’s great to see the darkness is back after the bright summer night and I even mange to get my first deep sky image since last January. Anyway I thought I would share my excitement and results with you guys on here: Here is the image I captured on the night and some details on it:

    Time: 23.00-04-30
    Location: Killygordon, Co. Donegal
    Equipment: CG5 mount, Canon 1000D (mod) and Sigma 70-300mm Lens (@70mm)
    Exposures: 18 x 10mins subs and 12 dark frames

    I used a pier mounted Celestron CG5 mount, a Canon 1000D camera (with UV/IR cut filter removed), a CLS clip light pollution filter and a sigma 70-300mm lens (set at 70mm).
