(I wasnt sure whethor to post this in the main section or the veggie forum. I am vegetarian myself but this is not a specifically vegatarian/vegan issue. Just putting it here because those on this forum might have a better idea of where to source alternatives to dairy milk.)

Basically, Im looking for Hazelnut milk and cant find it anywhere. I can find soy milk, rice milk and almond milk easy enough, and I can find rice milk mixed with almond and Hazelnut milk but what Im actually looking for is just Hazelnut milk by itself. I do eat dairy but milk gives me bloating so Im looking for alternatives on my cereal.

If anyone can suggest where I could find this Id appreciate it. (Im in Dublin by the way)

    Ruth

They have it at the Dublin food Co-op Newmarket Dublin 8. See website for opening details. Its quite expensive though I think?? Have you tried the usual suspects H&B, Nourish, Down to Earth???

Thanks I`ll definatly have a look there. I`ve tried all the usual places and cant find it. Holland and Barrett don`t have it, Nourish doesn`t have it, the hopsack doesnt have it it..I`ll continue searching though.

Down to Earth definitely have it. I think it is expensive though, possibly about 4.50 a litre or was that the almond milk.....

Ecomil are the only crowd I know doing a "pure" Hazelnut milk in these parts (water, hazelnuts, agave syrup and corn maltodextrin). Any independent healthfood store that stocks their almond milk should be able to get it in for you.
Pretty sure I'd have seen it in the Organic supermarket in Blackrock.
I'd ask Restore in Camden street (they've been very good at getting stuff in for me) and maybe check in across the road in Listons while you're there.

Or you could try making it yourself :-) (Look on youTube)

***Edit*** Defo sighting in Select Stores in Dalkey.

Hazelnuts are quite allergenic..... possibly not the best choice if you're sensitive in that way.

Have you tried coconut milk?? It's in Dunnes, and all the health shops. Tastes just like milk on cereal and in tea [ok i may be partially deluded as my friends disagree somewhat when i force it upon them....but i genuinely believe it!!!!] :D

Great stuff, I`ll take a look and see if I can`t get my hands on some.

I do like coconut but its specifically the hazelnut I was looking for, for the protein element to it. I use soy milk mostly but dont like using it all the time, so like to vary it.
Instrestingly, I tried Oatly oat milk on my cereal last week. Very oaty (of course) , different but nice, but by the second day in my fridge it had gone rancid/off which was off-putting for the high price. And I dont know why as my fridge is ultra cold...hmmm odd.

Ah, no the oat milk gets a bit thicker after it has been open a day, but it's good for about a week. It's always tastier about a day after opening it, I find. Initially it's far too thin, like rice milk or something.
