With permission from the Mods I present:

Movie and TV Themed Fundraiser Quiz Thing!

Wed 7th September - 8pm - upstairs at the Gin Palace, Middle Abbey Street, Dublin.

    https://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=188861697850024
Know your movies? Know your tv? Then pop along for a fun night out. Even if you don't, with the likes of our video question round and chocolate round you should still enjoy yourself.
The aim of these will be to fund various creative ventures so if you have an arts project, theatre group, short film, film, web show, etc that is in need of som.e cash then maybe we can sort you out. Details on how to apply will follow.

The first night will be to help fund a short film called No Messages. Here's the blurb:

Set in The Thomas House, Dublin 8 'No Messages' follows one day in the life of Dave, a barman who's stuck in emotional limbo. He's expecting an important phone call but arrives at work to discover that not only has he left his phone at home but his boss is asleep behind the bar. So begins a long day of hangover cures, irritating regulars and attempts to keep the toilets "for customer use only". And while Dave checks and rechecks his voicemail from the pub phone he finds that sometimes when you're drifting aimlessly that much-needed kick up the arse can come when you least expect it. No Messages is a comedy about enjoying today because you can't change yesterday.

The quiz begins at 8pm in the Gin Palace. €10 per person. There will also be a raffle with amazing prizes.
Come along, help something arty, try and win a quiz or just have fun.
    MC will be Alan Rogers

Should be a great night and it'll help us out greatly if people came along. (Funding short movies ain't easy!)

They're planning on making this a regular thing too so if you've got something that needs funding get in touch with Alan Rogers (link available via the Facebook page) or come along on the night and have a chat with him in person.

Just found out today that the Quiz has been upgraded from upstairs to the main bar in The Gin Palace.

And we even got ourselves a mention on the Le Cool website - http://lecool.com/dublin/en/23692

Who likes Rocky? Planet of the Apes? Clint Eastwood? Wine?

Well you can win DVDs (and bottles) of all of the above plus much more at the quiz tonight.

Come along and help support a Dublin film that for once won't include social issues, horses, kids or drugs.

I'm assuming we can just pay in at the door and it's the usual 4 people per team?

Yup. And even if you don't have a full team with you we'll pair you up with other knowledgeable people.

Had a great time at the quiz in Wednesday. Would've preferred more movie based questions, but all in all it was a decent quiz. Thought the videos were great. When's the next one??
