chippy, do us a rough sketch of what you want/need, its easier to adjust from there. ideally you want the stone to just sit on the outer block leaf, with some sort of strapping as required.

emailed feely stone and still no reply. bryan f cheers for the help was just in looking at quinlite and they seem like the most of the solution. going with 150 cavity solely to go over the top on insulation. maybe its a waste or whats your opinion. still digging so any recommendations prior to pouring founds would be appreciated.

chippy, from your boards.ie name i presume your in the trades, but regardless it sounds like you have not taken on your building project in the correct order. I'm summing-up this from your precoius posts and our recent PM, apologies if the following sounds harsh
    • 150mm cav is not over the top, if anything, it only just meets the regs! with your stone details you need to be extra careful
    • do a provisional BER cert straight away and a PHPP calculation
    • from your previous posts i presumed you were just stuck on a stone detail, but now i'm wondering is it someone to do the details you need?:) I think Ive mis-lead you on the quinlite solution:(
so, to make a recommendation, go to your architect and look for a phpp & BER calc BEFORE you go any further, once you start things get fixed and cannot be changed as easily, I'm blue in the face telling clients and friends that!:). then get him/her to give you(in-lieu of any other good standard in Ireland) details and specification for all floor/wall /roof/window and interfaces. there is great information here on boards of people building to near passive standards and i recommend you push for this from your design team and builder. if your self-building then imho take a breather and start studying quick! and dont scrimp on the design and spec stage as you'll regret it.

for limestone heads and cills try <SNIP> or in phone book curley stone, genuine irish limestone, many other give chinese cills and heads that cheaper and look similar but these have given problems when used for heads as are not suitable for heads and have had to be removed from several jobs used in, if any further queries can message me here. i have no links to curley stone, just always use him when i need these as keen price and good service
