Masters Athletics Question

Just looking at the results of the 2011 Masters Athletics championships and each event is listed but within each event, there's several sets of results with a code such as V1, V2, V3 etc. I don't see any info as to what these codes mean.

I was thinking perhaps V1 was the 35 age group, V2 was 40 etc but that's just a guess.

    Any idea?

Yep V1 is over 35, V2 is over 40 and so on.

Your guess is correct. V1 (you will also see it referred to M1 or M35 for males and F2/F35 for females) is 35-39 yr olds, V2/M2/M40/F2/F40 is 40-44 yr olds etc.

V stands for veteran I think.
