My mate said he was doing 105 kph in an 80 kph zone. He drove past a garda with a camera but the Garda didn't chase after him. He obviously got a picture of the car. He knows what he did was wrong. Will he get the standard 2 points and 80 euro fine or will he get done for dangerous driving?

Depends on the road IMO but if its was a main road or dual carriageway then 105 in an 80 would only be a normal fine/points I recon.

Depends on the situation to be honest.

I would expect a fine and 2 points, if the Garda felt the need too give out a summons for dangerous driving or careless driving he would have stopped him and cautioned him about the offence.

So a Regonal road. As said depends on the conditions, time, weather. Like 8:30 heavy traffic , kids on the roads etc.. Not the time or place to be doing 105kph. But 3am on a dry morning, light traffic etc.. Wouldn't view it as dangerous.
