Barcelona marathon 25/3/2012

    Just had a read through this thread, sounds like it went well.
    I'm going to book flights to Barcelona from Cork with Aerlingus for the Fri before the Marathon, 50e each incl taxes, seems good.
    Can't get any flight back on the Monday, hopefully they just aren't up yet?
    Any recommendations for hotels, etc?

    I'm looking at flights myself - I don't think they are up yet though...give it a couple of weeks I'd say...

    stayed in this place a couple of years ago. Was about 2 mins walk from the start/finish line.

    I stayed in Onix Fira in 2010 and in urban suites self catering apartments last year. Since I didn't run in 2011 I'm strongly considering this one for 2012.

    Just checked out aerlin.com and return fares are €238.30 not including credit card charges. Fares go up that weekend from about 35 quid? Is it by any chance a school holiday period?
    Methinks it will be Salthill again this year.
    DEFINITELY worth checking out before you buy entry to the race and accommodation

    Sale on in Aer lingus. Out friday and back Monday for 79 quid all in including everything. Huge price drop from last time I looked.

    Are you sure?
    I just checked again and it doesn't look like AerLingus have any flights back on the Monday?

    Edit: You are talking about Dublin, I was talking about Cork.

    Third time lucky RQ?
    I was sick for the first one, missed the flight last year. perhaps I might be able to get running again and manage a jog around this time? You on ?

    It is highly probable. Keep me in the loop if you're doing it and I might book the same flights. I'll probably go home on the Sunday again this year though.
