Amplifier for Home Cinema Setup - Advice needed

    Hi,

I was hoping you might recommend and price a budget level amplifier for the following setup. I say budget because I don't know what is considered cheap in amplifiers, so my own budget will extend as far as necessary into the "budget" category.

I inherited a Bose Acoustimass 5 speaker system: 2 satellites and one subwoofer, I didn't want to throw them out or sell them as the sound is decent and our Samsung TV has just been mounted on the wall, so the new position means the integrated speakers are now a little muffled and a solution is needed.

So, the setup is: Samsung 40" LCD TV, Bose Acoustimass 5 speaker system, UPC standard digital box and a playstation 3.

Can you recommend an amplifier that would connect all of these inputs (or just put it all through the TV?) and output to the Bose (standard "bare" stereo cables).

    Thanks

Advice on here is always, if something cannot wait a day or three ;), pickup the phone and call. :)

    Hi Dirk,

Sorry about the dealy in getting back to you, hectic up here.

I'm having trouble finding out if your sub is active or passive, from what I've been reading i belive it may be passive subwooder. You may need to upgrade this.

Check out the Sony 820, it's a great amp and would be suitable for everything you need. Check the link below for more details.
