Bad haircut

I got my hair cut on Friday in a hairdressing school. I always get my hair done here and have never had a problem. I noticed when the student was cutting it that it looked very uneven. When the professional came over to check at the end, she noticed the same, and had to even it out. However, I've just straightened my hair, and there is still a noticeable difference between the right and left side of my hair :( The left seems about a quarter to half an inch longer than the right, and it is definitely noticeable. Am I entitled to get this fixed? I'm afraid that I won't be, because it was cut by a student. Has anyone ever been in this situation before?

EDIT: Forgot to say that I won't be able to call in at all because I'm in school all this week. Would I be able to phone them up? :(
