2 Channel Digital Timer

    Hi all,

I'm trying to combine control of central heating and immersion into one timer if possible.

At the moment, the central heating (oil) is controlled off a simple analogue timer.

The Immersion is controlled by your bog standard sink/bath, on/off switch.

I'm hoping to run the central heating into one channel, and then the immersion into the other.

I'm planning to put the timer in between the supply and the immersion switch so that I can keep all the original wiring intact. Running the heating supply in should be simple enough.

Can anyone see anything wrong in doing this? The only problem I can see is getting a timer that can deal with the load needed for the immersion.

I'm looking at something like this

    but not sure if suitable?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Cheers

    dont do it
the immersion should be on a dedicated circuit(i.e. on its own)
you are over complicating the issue
    better to have separate timers
just be sure the immersion timer is rated 15amps or more

you could look at the electric immersion timers here: http://www.horstmann.co.uk/water-heating.php

I presume you have night rate electricity? Otherwise, why not use your gas/oil boiler to heat your water?
