    Hi All,

I want to wire up a tailboard lights for a trailer on to a 09 avensis. I was planning on connecting straight into the rear lights of the car by joining them up. Would anybody have a link to or copy of the colour codes of the wires going to the lights on an avensis? Also the pin out of the connector on the hitch would be handy. Wasn't able to come up with the colour codes on Google
    :(

    Thanks

I'm pretty sure you need a relay kit for the new shape Avensis otherwise the wiring goes haywire

I also think toyota do a plug and play kit.

Taking out the passenger side cluster and following the wiring from the bulbs should tell you easily which wire is which on the plug if you can't find a diagram

    Best of luck with it.

Thanks for the reply. Its actually the older shape avensis eventhough it was registered in 09, sorry about that. I think those kits are expensive tho. What would the benifit of the relay kit be?

    The relay kit
Is for the new model because of the stoplights and tail lights use 5v and putting 12v lights onto the circuit causes damage but with the older model Avensis you can just wire straight in, have the colours wrote down in work, but not a major hassle to find them with a circuit tester!
