    Alright folks

Was thinking of whisking herself away for her birthday next month, what are your opinions on Majorca for a weekend break for a couple? we are not big drinkers.

    can anybody recommend any hotels?

You haven't mentioned your budget or if you want to be close to the beaches?

If beach is not important check out this little gem in the mountains

If decide to hire a car you can visit Palma, etc in less than an hour. Enjoy!

Sorry ya would like to be close to palma & the airport as its only a weekend away so dont want to waste too much time travelling.

found this place on the net, all inclusive option seems like good value

TimMac: I'd recommend it for a weekend. I spent 7 days in Port Soller last summer and a further 3 nights in Palma. It's like a mini version of Barcelona.
Good shopping, and a few interesting places to visit like Palma Cathedral and the museum of modern art

If you havn't visted Mallorca before I would recommend taking the old train to Soller from Palma through the Tramuntana Mountains . It's very romantic and you can spend the aftrenoon in the town of Soller. She'd love it as it's a very romantic place!!! :)

Edited: I actually thought you initially were looking at Palma for a weekend. I would recommend you check out Port Soller about 30 mins by taxi from palma. Stunning place!

Also i know somebody who stayed in this small hotel/B&B in Soller (not to be confused with the next town of Port Soller). they gave it the thumbs up!

Mallorca is a really beautiful island especially the North /East which can be reached from Palma by bus in 30 minutes. A weekend is too short. Do make the effort to visit Soller by train from Palma Station if you get the weather! Can't really help with hotels in Palma as we stayed in this apartment (great location)!

Hi Tim, there are some great deals on the new holidays section of the aer lingus website. I booked a holiday to the Canaries on the site, got a great price - www.aerlinguspackages.com
