Longford half on shin splints.

Ive had a little niggle for the couple of days on my shins after running a 5km Pb on web night, which I brushed off as being normal recovery pains so to speak.

But as off this morning im really starting to think its shin splints. tender and sore, feels like brusing along inside of the shin wen I put any pressure on it.

So my question.. theres always a question, eh?
Is it possible to tape up shin splints in any form or fashion to prevent any further damage being done, or is there any type of support that can be used, just to get me over the longford half and then straight into recovery.

worried bout causing a stress fracture but already entered into the race so im prob gonna end up running it to tell the truth.
