People with more style than I... I got a pair of Toms, I won't wear them with socks, my feet sweat a lot. Is there any product available in Dublin which I can use to keep em pong free?

...and is it "Toms" or "TOMS"??! :D

I get the same problem wearing flats. The two main options I know of are:

    1. Deal with the feet - you can buy foot antiperspirant.

    2. Deal with the shoes - you can buy shoe deodorant. These are usually antibacterial too so they're pretty effective, but you need to let the shoes air before wearing them if you do this as the stuff's not good for bare skin.

I use the shoe deodorant because my feet don't smell/sweat (noticeably anyway), for me it's more a case of wearing them so often that they eventually build up a smell of their own (I can only assume through bacteria being left on them after use), but since you say you have sweaty feet you should probably try the foot antiperspirant. I have both products and they're both similarly effective, can't remember where I got the shoe deodorant but the foot antiperspirant is by Scholl and you can get it in most pharmacies that have a footcare section.

I think you can also get nice smelling insoles, but I can't imagine them being very good.

There's a product called Pedamed which is an anti-perspirant and deodorant for feet. It comes in a cream which you apply to your feet or a power which you put in your shoes. It works quite well for shoes that you like to wear without socks and you can buy it in most chemists.

Other than that you could try washing them on a low heat to keep them clean.

Also, put in insoles. They might help with the sweatiness? You can then change the insoles when they start to get pongy.

Get the powdered foot deodorant. I found that good.

Awesome, thanks guys. I'll probably just take the shotgun approach and take care of both my feet and the shoes :)
