    Head-to-head
    • Liverpool have won their last nine Premier League matches against Bolton.
    • Wanderers have failed to score in six of those nine defeats.
    • Bolton's last league win at Liverpool was 2-1 on 2 January 1954, in a top-flight match. They also won at Anfield in the League Cup in 2003, and in the FA Cup in 1993.

Bolton looking strong at the moment, going to be a tough game, of course as always I think we'll get the win but it's heart over head more than anything. Should be a good game.

Bolton haven't beaten us since 1954, it's nailed on Mayor.

The pool to win 3-0. Suarez definitely on the score sheet and hopefully Carroll two. Is the team up yet?

Boton's recent league record at Anfield is really awful.

    Played 12, lost 11, and drawn 1.

    Here's to played 13, lost 12, and drawn 1.

Could be a stiff test as Bolton look solid.

Will go for a 3-1 Liverpool win and for Suarez to get goal number four from game number four this season..

Have a feeling that Henderson will start today and that Suarez may be a sub.

The starting line up will be interesting but any reasonable lineup should see us with 3 pts in the bag at the final whistle. They are capable of making it a hard enough game for us but there should be enough chances created hopefully for a win by a couple of goals.

Bolton were very competitive in both games last season as far as I recall. I expect they'll give it a good go. That said keep Davies and Klasnić quiet and they shouldn't score.

I reckon Downing will get his first goal today. Looking dangerous lately

More important game than I think people reckon .

Get a convincing 3 points today and the upward trend is well and truly established.
Winning just might become a habit .

Get beaten and it's another question mark over which is our best formation / system .

Get a draw and that's a disappointing 2 points from two home games against mid table teams .

I predict a win but it been a really tight game , midfield need to be strong and creative .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭livinginkorea

Totally agree...a win would keep the momentum rolling.

Starting Suarez in Carling Cup games and putting him on the bench for league games would be mind boggling.

    A win today is important.

Three of our next four games are away. Against Stoke, Spurs and a derby at Goodison, which are all tough games.

No Carroll, that is a surprise.

    Tactical? Or loss of faith?

    Carroll dropped? Controversial!

Rotated I reckon. Like Suarez last week and Kuyt the week previous.

Disappointed Carroll's not starting after scoring midweek.

They should use the rest he gets here to do extra training with him to get his fitness up...

Also leaving him out might give him a bit more hunger to win back his place

Any good Sopcast streams for the game?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,163 ✭✭✭✭danniemcq

maybe its tactical, get bolton used to suarez and adam linking up then throw Carroll into the mix, they'd have to start again.

Kuyt off Carroll on ... at some stage

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭djPSB

Looks like Kuyt will lead the line in his best position. Alot better playing there than on the wing.

The more I think about it I don't think he's been dropped, more a tactical rotational switch like Suarez last week at The Emirates.

That's the advantage of having a good squad.

I'm sure we'll see him in 2nd half.

2-1 to Bolton! :D still annoyed over the loss to City last week, so this would cheer me up! I see Coker getting one in this game.

Kinda nervous about this one. We really need a win just to kick on fro beating Arsenal and heading into an International break.

    Come on Saurez!

Poxy Paddy Power. Powerplay of Liverpool to win and Carroll to score anytime, 2/1. Went for it without checking the team. Hope Liverpool lose now!!

He's probably more likelz to score coming off the bench...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I can see kenny using the 3 of carrol, kut and suarez as impact subs for a lot of the season.

Last year we were winning games almost entirely in the first 30 minutes and then nothing happening in the second half. We effectively lost two points to sunderland because of that second half slump, they shouldve been put away by the time they scored.

The impact sub of meiriles and suarez worked really well against arsenal.

If anyone has any stats id be interested in seeing how many second half goals liverpool have scored last season (in the second half). Have we ever won since going behind?
