Has anyone seen this Accountancy and Finance discount card on FB? They have all these discounts they "negotiated" with shops, chip shops etc.

Though they all do seem rather strikingly similar to the student discounts already offered by these places. Only this society want to charge people a fiver. I wonder how many people will be silly enough to buy them...

I've never seen Accounting/Finance do anything related to Accounting or Finance and it's not the first time i've heard them referred to as scamming people.

They seem to make alot of false claims about things. I'm not sure if I'm right, but I think societies aren't allowed to do mystery tours because of one they had...?

Topshop and Hanleys definately have the discount already and for Big O taxis its fairly easy to pick up the cards for 2 euro off. Im not sure about the rest though as I really wouldnt use them that often but im sure their claim that the card would save an average student 400 euro in a year is definately incorrect.

I also hate the way in the advertisement for the back to college party they make a big deal over college bar being free admin, since when have you ever had to pay into college bar....

"Accounting and Finance Society" sounds like the most incredibly boring society I've ever heard. What next, Data Entry Soc?

Also why would anyone use a €2 off Big-O Taxis card, when you could just get a cheaper taxi elsewhere anyway?

Dont you know they organise the biggest student parties in Galway like ever!!!!!

But yeah they seem to be well up their own assses especially when I found this bit on their site :
This year the society visited London for the much talked about A & F 3 day London tour. There was extremly high demand for places with those lucky enough to secure a place calling it the best foreign student trip NUIG has seen to date !

The best foreign trip? I doubt it considering some of the places the other societies go. Id barely even class London as foreign anyway and only for 3 days.

I've never really seen anything organised by a Soc that looked in any way appealing. "Hey Guyz! Wanna pay €100 for the privilege of coming to our Ball! It's the best and like everyone is totally going!". Erm no, I'll just go out with my mates thanks.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm definitely joining the Accountancy and Finance Wolfpack, It's the place to be... It's so hot right now...
