Last acknowledgement of the debt by the borrower

What would define "acknowledgement of debt by the borrower" ?

-answering the phone and discussing the debt ---yes, I assume.
-drip drip repayment of loan -- yes, I assume.

-signing for a registered letter but no further contact. i.e. the lender would have proof of delivery but no other contact e.g. borrower not contactable by phone, does not respond to letters.
