I have a Diploma in IT, I got a while ago.
I left college for personal reasons, but now want to go back and complete my degree.
I'm not sure about the progression routes in.
Or should I complete a short course before I go back, I've forgotten most of what I learned.

Your best bet is to contact the college you're interested in attending and ask them. Sometimes they'll have time limits on the exemptions they'll give (i.e. they'll only award an exemption in return for the Diploma within a certain number of years of you having gained the diploma) to avoid the problem of students coming back after a long time having forgotten a lot of what they already learnt.

You should check out if the college you wish to apply to have an Access office or a Mature Student Office (if that applies to you). They can provide great support and advice to students just like you.
