Is there an RSS feed for a subscribed thread?

I was on the HP touchpad thread, which evolved very fast and I was wondering what the best way to see new replies. I know we can get emails of it, but I was just wondering if something like this exists:

On thread tools I could click on RSS link.
My RSS reader would update with the last 50 or so replies. Sometimes replies can be long, so perhaps they could be limited and images, etc could be omitted.

    Is this possible?

Also, that particular thread seemed to get a lot of reviews... How does it rate to other popular threads over the years?

    :)

I don't believe such a feature exists on boards.ie at the present time.

Open to correction by Conor or Ross if they've been secretly working on RSS but I don't believe they have.

    Sorry. :o

The administrator may have enabled RSS syndication, this allows you to view newly created threads in guest viewable forums without visiting the board.

The feeds are currently provided in two formats, RSS and RSS v2. The differences are as follows:

RSS 0.91 - This feed is based on a standard written by netscape and provides a link and the title of the thread.
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/external.php?type=rss
RSS 2.0 - This feed contains title, author, date and the contents of the first post of the thread.
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/external.php?type=rss2

To add this to MyYahoo click here.

The forums to which this applies can also be limited to specific guest viewable forums by adding another parameter to the URL containing the forumids as follows:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=123

If you would like the content to be generated for multiple forums you can separate the forumids by commas.

    From the FAQ
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/faq.php?s=&do=search&q=rss&match=all&titlesonly=0

though there seems to have been some issues with it in the past according to a quick google search

I understood the OP's question to be was there any way that long replies could be limited. That's the bit that I don't believe is possible.

Probably should have read the post properly myself instead of just the title :o

OP, you should make a thread in Site Development to see if Conor or Ross could implement what you're talking about :)

I agree, but the way things currently stand, I'm pretty sure that my answer is correct, so I'm marking this as Resolved. OP - feel free to start a thread in the Site Development forum requesting the feature you speak of.

    Thread closed.
