How important is it to surf at different places or does it matter, have been going to the same two beaches in Co.Clare for the last year, time to head elsewhere?

If you like the breaks and the conditions are good, don't see any need to change, but if conditions aren't perfect good excuse to look else where

Never drive away from working surf - so if it's the first place you go to then surf there then after maybe look around for a better wave.

It would be good to get to know of a few other sport so that if conditions aren't great there you have somewhere else to go. For example if it's hight tide in Lahich or a big swell that's to big for you, could you go somewhere shelted. Get the map out and look around.

Try getting yourself one of the commonly used surfing guidebooks such as Stormriders or similar.
You should be able to suss alternative spots that are similar in nature to your current.

Remember that any far afield spots you visit you are exactly that, a visitor.
Don't act the maggot, ensure you practice proper surf etiquette and show some respect for locals.
Nor should you give directions or name any spots online esp if they are sensitive or lesser known.
