Signed contract worth anything?

Offered and accepted a job, returned the signed contract.
Looks like the customer of the company is postponing the project.

So is my signed contract worth anything?, can they just turn around and cancel my contract.

Was due to start late September.

Is there anything in the contract referring to clauses which would void the contract? I'd be of the opinion if they were taking you on for a specific project that they'd most likely have a clause in your contract saying if the project doesn't go ahead then they can terminate your employment

    Theres nothing in it.
The 'project' is Intel, they have just postponed the new upgrade for a year or two.
