Some bands display a list of their upcoming gigs on their websites but many dont. Why is this?

Is it a lack of ability to constantly update their website or is there another reason why bands keep their diaries a secret?

This is the most likely explanation.

Maybe. If so, why bother being in a band, if you are not interested in getting gigs. For that matter, if a person is lazy, why be in a band at all ??? :)

A lot of non-tax paying bands are being found out by the Revenue through their upcoming gigs pages, and through the likes of FB.

Great !! I'm sure that the billions that they will collect this way, will get the country out of it's current mess. :D

It is possible that this could be one reason alright.

So how many bands out there are not paying tax? Would the majority of bands not declare for tax at all?

I'm interested in seeing some bands and finding out where they are playing is a real pain in the a**e.....!!

All the bands making a living from music have their gigs on their site.

Could you give me an example of these bands because many of the ones I have checked out dont display any gig listings.....

the big cover bands pay tax, but most of the part time ones dont. for a 4 piece getting 100 a man, when you take diesel and tax there is not a lot left.

Hi there, thanks for the info, but the Big Generator site is an example of what I am talking about... they have loads of info for dates they have played in August but nothing before that and nothing pencilled in for Sept...

Have the band decided to pack it in, or have they just gotten lazy and cant be bothered updating their website calendar?
