    Hi,

Has anybody received the BTEA renewal form for 2011/2012 yet? It's the form that asks 'are you continuing with your course' etc? I thought i had mine by this time last year. Starting to get nervous...

    Thanks.

Hi Noushelle, ring your local social welfare office and they will post one out to you.
Or, call in and ask for one.

    Hi RM

Thanks for the reply. The social welfare office in Blanch just do not answer the phone. I've been calling for 2 days. I've a Summer job on the other side of town, so I can't drop in without taking a day off. Complete pain :-/

Would you have access to a fax machine if possible?

you could fax them a letter asking them for a renewal form for BTEA.

    Fax: (01) 8246315

Or if any friends/family members are available to call in, they could collect one for you.

You can download the form on the social welfare website.

I don't think we're talking about the same form tbh. Last year (before returning to college), the social welfare sent out a form asking if I was continuing on my degree.. had I passed my exams etc. I didn't think it was something that you just downloaded. Do you have a link LTL?

    Thanks.

Perhaps its different in each County, but in Louth they required the same form as last year. The form also covers those resuming their course http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Publications/SW70/Pages/ABacktoEducationAllowanceBTEA.aspx

I have completed and gained clearence from BTEA to resume second year.

    I think you're right! Thanks :)

I have some questions about this form.

I was on Jobseekers and then I got a Summer job for the past 8 weeks. I was going on the advice from that BTEA website (below).

"If you are going on to the next year of your course or moving to a higher qualification, you will get your BTEA again from the start of the new academic year regardless of whether you got an unemployment payment for the summer."

The BTEA application form seems to contradict this. Have you been working? None of the allowance's listed apply to me. 'Only fill in this form if you are getting Jobseeks Allowance etc.."
