Yes, you divide the retail price by 100 to get the value of the clubcard points so Currys wins this hands-down.

Good catch - sickened that I didn't spot that myself.

I suppose this TV could be a bargain if you're more than 30 litres of petrol / diesel drive away from a Currys....

I thought for a sec that there might be HP Touchpads ontop of it in the pic.

bought 1 of these 2 weeks ago for 599 in independent retail store in cobh , awesome telly , the colour is amazing in hd led for matches, also did not need to change my ariel for the digital irish channels, simple to set up, only fault with it is the irish digital channels automatically switch on the subtitles so you have to manually switch them off every time you change ie. rte 1 to rte2. more than happy with it beats the lcd tellies hands down.:D

That would be some touch pad, at 42" it had better come with it's own car to transport it :p

We have a 32" version of it, minus the saorview but have it connected to a freeview sat box, was watching the F1 qualifying earlier on BBC HD and the colors and pic quality are very very good if you have a genuine HD source.

Is this television LED or LCD? It says Lcd on the Box!!

Sorry I didn't see the full picture, it is an LED!!

Still doesn't seem to be getting good reviews though

Just bought the LG-42LV450U yesterday.have to say im impressed with it.it has lots of av ports, features, simple to use and picture and colour is great.cant really comment on the sound as im using my Bose LS48 for the audio.the only problem i do have is tuning in saorview channels.when i do a scan i end up with all the uk freeview like dave, bbc 1 2 3 etc which obviously dont clear.I could only find Rte1 and the City Channel out of nearly 50 digital channels.i tried a few times now and still no joy getting all saorview channels.ive tuned in saorview on a few tvs and its usually straight forward so if anyone else knows how to get saorview on this model please do let me know.

City Channel isn't on Saorview, UPC I think.

Saorview is only available via a UHF aerial.

should i not be able to receive saorview on cable in city centre.

No there completly different. How are you getting the freeview channels? Didn't think you'd get them in the city centre

Sounds like you are connecting the TV to UPC connection, rather than a UHF aerial

    No.

What you're currently seeing are your Cable channels via UPC. Saorview can only be received via a UHF aerial either on your roof, in your loft or via a small indoor such as one below.

    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/5347225/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CHome+entertainment+and+sat+nav%7C14419512/c_2/3%7C19780832%7CTelevision+accessories%7C14419521/c_3/4%7Ccat_14419521%7CTV+aerials%2C+boosters+and+accessories%7C28589765.htm

It'd be worth buying a cheapo indoor aerial (sit it beside a window), perform a digital scan and you may well have it. Outdoor roof aerial is always preferable for optimum reception though.
