    what kind and colour worktop would be nice on a solid american walnut kitchen. what are the alternatives to granite

    Normally with a dark wood kitchen a lighter worktop looks best.
    A white quartz may be one to consider.
    I have also seen polished concrete countertops which would go extremely well with the walnut

    Quartz same price as granite , more colours available, more contempory. You need to ring around, big variation in price.

    A recessed drainer as oppossed to drainage flutes adds approx €400
